Halloween Blog Hop

Hi Friends,

I want to welcome you to the Blog Hop for September 2017. This month our theme is Halloween! You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog – Stamp with Georgia or may have come from the person previous to me. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup at the end of my post will help you move along from blog to blog so that you are able to see all the projects.

The stamp set that I used to create my Halloween card is Spooky Cat this is in the new Occasions catalog that released September 1st. All I can say it is so much fun and I looked and saw the face of a cat as the face to my pumpkins!
I started with what are for me the traditional Halloween colors. Pumpkin Pie and Early Espresso with the Early Espresso run through my Big Shot with the Woodland embossing folder. I love the texture that it gives the paper and it is just a hint of fall.

I used some thinlets from the Swirly Scribbles set to create my pumpkins. I love that the Pumpkin Pie cardstock is the absolute perfect coloring
However, the cat face works for me since I love my kitties.

The final pieces were wrapping some jute twine around and adding some more layers with the pumpkins!

Simple and cute.

Thanks for taking part in our blog hop, there are so many amazing ideas and inspiration you don’t want to miss. Remember that currently, you are at my blog – Stamp with Georgia

Happy Stamping!

World cardmaking day is October 7th

Hi friends,

I am sharing with you an article explaining what World cardmaking day is.

How will I be celebrating? I will be stamping with stampers from 8 different states at a Regional Stampin Up event on Saturday! I absolutely love this event every time it is offered. Gets me to think outside of my own box!

What is World cardmaking day
We get them on special occasions, holidays and birthdays, they sit upon our mantle and some of them even get tucked into our store of special memories. Whether it’s Christmas or our Birthday, we always look inside for the gift card from Santa Claus or the money from a grandparent, often before we’ve even read the card (what a social faux pas! You should feel ashamed!) But have you ever considered making your own card? World Card Making Day reminds us that the best gifts come from the heart, and the hands and vision of the people we love, so get out there and try making a card of your own!

History of World Card Making Day..
Cards have played an important role in social circles for hundreds of years, playing a role as a thoughtful gift all the way to a necessary part of proper etiquette. Consider, if you will, the calling card of the Victorian era, a term that has become so ubiquitous that the signature element of a bomb-maker or a criminal is said to be their ‘calling card’. A small piece of paper bearing ones name and often a decoration of some kind, the calling card (Also known as a visiting card) was presented to the servants of a household that it might be delivered to the masters of the house to announce visitors.
It was this era of propriety that also developed the concept of a dance card, a card specifically carried by women to fill out with the names of the men they intended to dance with that evening. After all, with so many interested parties it just made sense to keep track of them so that you could, in earnest, indicate that your dance card was full and thus politely decline an interested suitor.
Calling Cards, Dance Cards, Business Cards, Greeting Cards, RSVP Cards, there are a million and more types of cards and could there be anything more exciting than learning to make your own? World Card Making Day encourages you to do just that.

How to celebrate World Card Making Day
The best way to celebrate World Card Making Day is, of course, to learn how to make your own cards! There are often card making classes to be had at craft stores nearby, and if you have friends who are into scrapbooking they’ll be more than happy to teach you how to go about making your own cards. The only limit to your cards is your imagination, so let your creativity fly and send your friends and family personalized cards on World Card Making Day!

So now if you would be so kind as to leave me a comment as to whether you knew about this awesome day or not, what you will be doing to celebrate and what you think of having a day to celebrate globally this craft?

Happy stamping!

RemARKably Created Blog Hop: September 17, 2017

Hello friends,

Here is my next hop: Falling for Fall......

I absolutely love that I have been able to join the Fall RemARKably Creative Blog Tour with Demonstrators around the world.  Please make sure to stop at each blog to truly get some inspiration for your projects using products from Stampin' Up!s current Holiday catalog.

Fall is my favorite season slightly warm with some cool almost cold evenings. Well for my part I could not just do one - instead I did 3.  I absolutely love the Painted Harvest stamp set and designer series paper.

I recently discovered through watching You Tube and looking through Pinterest the art of stamping on candles and I absolutely adore how my fall one turned out.

I created this little box for my husband who likes this window box and this one I filled with his favorite candy corn, Crushed curry and designer paper the Painted Autumn designer series paper = just such a fresh new way to dress up my box.

Finishing out my group of projects is a greeting card. I love the twine with the sunflowers just gives it a country feel which is where I enjoyed Autumn the most which was on my Grandparents farm in the mountains. Such beautiful colors.

I hope you enjoyed this stop along the way to all the various projects.

Happy Stamping!

Succulents and a new planter

Hello friends,

I actually wrote this blog post a few days ago, however, for whatever reason, it would not publish from my phone. I wanted to share something with you that has absolutely nothing to do with stamping, rather I wanted to just something that I created that I have been wanting to do and just have not gotten to.

What is this post about Succulents! I am very new to the succulent world as I have never grown them before so imagine my surprise when I got these and they actually have grown.
This is my attempt at propagating and I got one to sprout all the others have roots though.

I have had these 3 plants in 3 separate containers in my kitchen in the window and they were just about 1 to 3 inches tall then and now they definitely needed to be moved to a bigger planter (purchased at the At Home Store at 1/2 off! filled the hole in the middle with a trimmed cork stopper.

I think it looks pretty good.  Now I am not sure where I am going to put them since frankly, this pot will NOT fit in my kitchen window sill.

So if you have any ideas I would love to see what you have done. Have you grown succulents = what have you found that is successful. My biggest questions are how to I propagate the cactus plant (to the right rear) and the other one (to the rear left)?

Thank you for stopping by to see what I post. Stay true to you!

Have a great day!

BLOG HOP: Anything but the Holidays with Holiday catalog products!

Hello friends,
Thank you so much for stopping by to check out this blog hop I am participating in.  Before you get there let me ask you a few questions?
Have you seen the amazing new Stampin’ UP! Holiday catalog?
If your answer is Yes! Then you really do know how exciting it is.
If your answer is No. :-( Then you need to get your hands on a copy. If you do not already have a demonstrator then pop over and hit the subscribe button or send me a quick email and I will be thrilled to get one to you.  I am in the US and therefore can only sell in the USA, however, I would be happy to track someone who is as close to you as possible to get you connected!
So on with the HOP – this hop we were all challenged to create something that is not a holiday with the holiday product. Talk about FUN and challenging.
Come see what we’ve created….

So here is a card that I created.
I am so excited to show off this card. I created it with product from the new Stampin Up! Holiday catalog that went live on September 1st.  I am enjoying challenging myself and other to think outside of the box when using your stamps.  Just because it might be a fall or Halloween design change up the colors!
Just a quick "Hello" card to just make someone smile and really couldn't we all really use a happy card to just smile about. Creating this triple time card which breaks up the design on 3 different pieces of cardstock using the various different colors to bring the design alive.
Now here is a challenge for you - take a stamp set and create your own upside down card and post it in the comment section below! I look forward to reading your comments and seeing who takes on this challenge!
Thank you so much for stopping by and I know you will LOVE all of the projects the others made on this hop!
Happy Stamping!
